Council Plan

With limited, public information provided by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and none from our local Glynneath Town Council it will be necessary to plan ourselves for different scenarios that could happen in the near and longer future.

Looking today, there is no mention of the coronavirus COVID-19 on the front page of the Neath Port Talbot Country Borough Council website*, no menition from the “Newsroom”.  A search reveals just three results, two of which are the same few lines of text pointing to either the NHS or National Goverment website.  The final being some answers to generic questions.  No local based information.

The Glynneath Town Council website ignores the subject completly, giving no advice to the residents, no contingency plan, no views on the current local confimed cases or the product shortages from the town shops.

The town NEEDS a plan, NOW, not when everyone has self isolated, not when schools are closed, not when shops are closed.

If the elected officials won’t step up, then the town residents need to do it for themselves.

We need to ensure that all neighbours are cared for, those in self isolation have the food and medications that they need, we need to work with the local businesses to ensure any panic buying shortages are overcome.

Check with your neighbours today, are they well, do they need provisions that may not be available in the town, working together we can acheive so much more than alone.

*A banner on the front page has been added Monday 16 March linking to the existing limited page.
